The Maker & The Stitches

Hi, I’m Abby.

I crochet the way some people keep diaries. Every piece starts with a color that reminds me of something I can’t quite name, and I stitch until it feels right.

Crochet as a slow diary

I love things that look a little quiet and a little bold at the same time, like a fairground after closing. If you do too, welcome in.

Handcrafted in Nigeria, Abby crafts each item loop by loop. There are no factory lines, no conveyor belts, and no mass manufacturing. When you hold a hat or scarf, you are holding days of focused, tactile intention.

Textile Truth

The Machine-Free Manifesto

In an era where robots weave fabrics, sew garments, and knit intricate sweaters in seconds, crochet remains completely untouched by machines.

Because crochet involves pulling a loop through a loop using a single hook, turning the fabric, and building independent structures, no machine has ever been engineered that can replicate it. Every single crochet piece in the world has been made by a pair of human hands.

When you purchase from Crochet by Abby, you are investing in authentic human handcraft that cannot be automated or cheapened.

Carnival after dark

The collection centers on a nostalgic fairground atmosphere: the deep, grounding night of the empty rides, the warm golden buttery glow of popcorn booths, the rich fizz of cold cherry cola, and the electric spark of toxic lilac.

Mildew Black & Popcorn Butter

60% of the canvas. The melancholy anchor of the fairground night and the warm nostalgia of buttery memories.

Cherry Cola & Toxic Lilac

The eye-grabbers. 30% vintage soda richness accented by a 10% electric carnival charge.

How to care for your pieces

Crochet pieces are living textiles. With gentle care, they will last for generations:

  • Hand wash only: Submerge in cool water with mild liquid wool soap or shampoo.
  • Never wring: Squeeze the water out gently, then press between clean dry towels.
  • Dry flat: Reshape your piece and lay it flat in the shade. Never hang wet crochet, as the weight of the water will stretch the stitches.
